Psalms Funeral Home in Navasota, TX

Let's face it: you died. No use living in the past (or living at all, really) and wondering about whether or not it was the best idea to try to lick a car battery to see if it still worked. What's done is done (and it turned out that it was an alternator issue).

But now you are deceased and your loved ones have some decisions to make about your immediate whereabouts. They could just take you to your average run-of-the-mill funeral home. Navasota, TX has several from which to select that are neither gaudy nor ostentatious, but that offer peaceful, respectable services for dearly departed loved ones.

And there is nothing -- at all -- wrong with going to one of these places. After all, most people do prefer traditional funeral services.

But for those looking for something a little bit more... smelling like cheese, I have just the solution for you:

BEHOLD! The Psalms Funeral Home in Navasota, TX. Just like your favorite porno shop, the signature trapezoidal windows have been covered in stucco for your privacy. If you can imagine a better place for your family and friends to pay their final respects, I would love to hear about it.

Thanks to Jason for sending this in. Even for a guy who blogs about places that used to be Pizza Huts, I can't believe this is a real thing.

Taj Express in Dallas, Texas

And last but not least from Steve R. is the Taj Express in Dallas, Texas. Signature window angles negate any attempt made at replacing the roof, although the exterior paint job is quite nice. I feel like this is a place I would actually check out if my travels ever brought me to Dallas.

Sewing World in Grapevine, Texas

Man, Steve R. is on a roll today. This next submission from our soon-to-be-best-friend Steve is Sewing World, located in beautiful Grapevine, Texas. Self-explanatory in purpose, Sewing World did a nice job removing the signature roof hump and covering up the hot, slick red roof with some good old fashioned composite shingle from the Home Depot. But the windows and the paneling below the window line tell us all we need to know about this beautiful specimen.

Northwest Washateria/Washteria in Dallas, Texas

Someone found something to do with an old Pizza Hut that is even more irrelevant than an actual Pizza Hut. What is a "Washateria," you ask? And why are the two very prominent signs spelled differently?Well, that is all part of the charm and mystery of the Northwest Wash(a)teria in Dallas. Thanks for the submission, Steve R.

Movie House in Garland, Texas

From loyal reader Steve R. Who are the clientele requiring check cashing at the same place which rents out your favorite movies in VHS format? Why, you will have to pay a quick visit to Garland, Texas to find out yourself.

Orlando's Mexican Grill in Houston, TX

Sneaky sneaky sneaky Orlando's. Vertical shutters, no more roof-hump. You had me fooled! But your corner window tells me all I need to know about your past life of greasy pizza and suspected drug dealing out of the kitchen.
